SRM takes its cue from its members. The
popularity of our workshops and monthly lectures prompted us to organise a
Radiography Week between the 4th and 8th November 2002. During this week,
characterised by a change in weather, radiographers were given an
opportunity to attend a three-day course in cardiopulmonary resuscitation
and an academic meeting. During this academic meeting, four radiographers
presented their dissertations and shared their knowledge with an audience of
sixty delegates. Dr Pauline Reeves, Head of School of Radiography at the
University of Wales delivered a lecture on model of care in diagnostic
radiography.
The well attended annual general meeting,
approved the reports for year 2002 and discussed several issues affecting
the professional development of radiographers. In the end it was agreed,
that radiographers will counteract threats to their professionalism through
incident reporting and documentation. Obviously all documentation and
incident reporting will respect confidentiality and anonymity and will be
discussed with the relevant authorities only. The mechanism for incident
reporting and documentation will be discussed in the coming future after all
the legal aspects are researched. Results of this mechanism will be
presented to members in a workshop for approval.
Finally, the various organisations , companies
and individuals that helped the SRM throughout the year where given a token
for the occasion. |
